Vintage sizing
Go by the measurements, not the tag
Sizes have changed a lot over the decades, and US sizing runs bigger than UK. Every listing includes flat measurements in inches — compare them to something you already own that fits well.
Pit to pit
Lay the item flat. Measure straight across from armpit seam to armpit seam. Double it for the rough chest size.
Length
From the highest point of the shoulder (next to the collar) straight down to the bottom hem.
Waist & inseam
Waist: straight across the top of the waistband, then double it. Inseam: crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
